  • Girl: Why are you talking to me about me like you know me better than I know myself? I believe we have just met.
  • Boy: I don't know... I guess I feel like I've known you all my life.
  • Girl: I am not sure I am following what you're trying to say. You meant this to be a compliment, right? You don't mean that I'm ordinary, do you?
  • Boy: No, of course not. I've never met anyone quite like you. And I mean that as a compliment.
  • Girl: That's a nice thing to say. Thank you. People have told me that before... but I am afraid that if that's the reason why they like me, the more they get to know me and the more they realize how in reality I am mostly like everyone else, the less they will like me. I am terrified of that, really. So sometimes I try to convince myself that it's a bad idea to let people get to know me.
  • Boy: I think if I could get to know you better I would like you even more. So far you are adorable. Do you hear that often too?
  • Girl: Yes, I do. Thank you for the compliment. It sounds different when you say it like... more interesting and meaningful.
  • Boy: Do you always say thank you for every compliment?
  • Girl: Yes, I'm sorry. I say thank you and sorry a lot... especially when I'm nervous. It bothers some people... does it bother you?
  • Boy: No, not at all. I think you're adorable.
  • Girl: Thank you.
